About this Hotel

Price From $49

’Hood The Garden District, New Orleans’ famous residential area along St. Charles Avenue, where you’ll find great restaurants and historic attractions. The French Quarter is 15 blocks away, but easy enough to get to via a short streetcar ride.

The Vibe There really isn’t one. People come here to save money, not to hang out. You go to your room, or you go out and enjoy the city. The small office has a computer to use, along with snacks for sale and a few brochures.

Rooms There are 62 individually decorated rooms, ranging from the inexpensive Historic Standard to the large Master Suite, which sleeps six. All rooms have flat-screen televisions, ceiling fans, microwaves and coffee pots, and private bathrooms. Other details vary from room to room: Some have exposed brick walls and hardwood floors; others wall-to-wall carpeting or Italian marble countertops. If you’re traveling in a group, ask to see the Master Suite, with its loft, mahogany furnishings, walk-in closet, and dining room table.

Plus It’s a cheap, clean hotel with a friendly staff and location half a block away from the St. Charles Avenue streetcar line.

Minus There isn’t a bar or restaurant on property, so you’ll have to walk at least a block or two for sustenance, and there are few amenities or fun things to do close by. Basically, it’s just a place to sleep.

Free Wi-Fi? Yes.

Credit Cards Accepted All.

Details The Contemporary Twin rooms are typically the least expensive, though the slightly more expensive duplex Contemporary Queen Jr. Suite, which sleeps three, is also a good value.
