About this Hotel

'Hood Adam’s Morgan, where restaurants wave flags from five continents and bars crank up the music and host live bands. Most of the action stays within the borders of 18th Street, rarely spilling over to the dialed-down side streets. By day, the neighborhood can look a little spent, but it perks up by night.

The Vibe The inn is made up of a trio of early 20th-century brick-town houses and hasn't strayed far from its original roots as a group residence. An eclectic mix of guests from around the globe and multiple public rooms will make you feel as if you're  contribute to the feel of staying at the International House at a liberal arts college.

Rooms More than half of the 26 rooms (15 to be exact) come with private baths; the remainder must share. The pragmatic, only-what-you–-need furnishings are dated in a good way. Bedding is muted (sometimes freckled with flowers), the color palette is soothing, and there's a refreshing absence of noise boxes (no TVs or phones).

Plus Two separate kitchen areas—including one with a hot plate—and numerous dining nooks means you can take back your leftovers or shop at the nearby Safeway for DIY meals. Chill outdoors in the large backyard garden or on the front porches. A computer is available to guests, as is a laundry facility in the basement (14 quarters required). A dish of peppermint patties greets you at the door.

Minus The bathrooms are not stocked with toiletries. Remember to ask the front desk for complimentary shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, shaving cream, and any other necessities before you strip down.
